The Midlothian High School Theatre program is a place for students to develop a lifelong passion for the arts. We foster independent thinking in a creative environment and encourage students in artistic growth on the stage, in the classroom, and in life.

Theatre Camp for Kids - July 31 - August 1, 2025
Two fun-filled days of theatre games, prop-making, singing, and dancing! Students will present a brief performance to showcase skills learned on the final day of camp in the MHS auditorium.
- When: July 31-August 1 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Cost: $100 per child (non-refundable)
- Age: Completed Kinder thru 5th grade
- Where: MHS Black Box (Door 37)
Dare to Dream Jr - October 16-18, 2025
Disney’s Dare to Dream JR. is a 60-minute musical revue that follows an eager group of trainees on their first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio. As the group sets out to help each other discover their dreams, they work together to explore the power of dreams to unite, inspire, and make anything possible. Drawing from a century of beloved Disney films, Dare to Dream JR. features songs appearing for the first time ever in a Disney stage musical, including fan-favorites from The Princess and the Frog, Coco, Encanto, and Frozen II. This musical revue is a thrilling mix of contemporary songs, timeless classics, and brand-new medleys that are sure to surprise and delight Disney lovers of all ages. This will be our kids’ show. We will announce kid auditions on social media.
Mamma Mia - January 29-31, 2026
ABBA’s hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The storytelling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter, and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs, and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit for any theatre. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget!

The play for UIL OAP will be announced in the fall. The public performance typically happens in March, just before the first competition.
